Steve Watterson - Tennessee Titans Strength & Conditioning Coach
One of the top strength and rehabilitation experts in the NFL, Steve Watterson is in his 15th season as the Titan's strength and conditioning coach. Steve has led the development of FitnessInsite's intricate workout module. In 1999, Steve was appointed to the National Research Council for Health (NRCH) Scientific Advisory Council.
Scott Peltin, BS, IAFF/ACE PFT Instructor -
Scott is a Division Chief with the Phoenix Fire Department. He has over 22 years in the fire service and received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland. His is the Director of the Peer Fitness Trainer program at Glendale Community College and a member of the IAFF/IAFC Wellness Fitness, CPAT, and PFT technical committees. Scott is a frequent author and speaker around the country on functional training, wellness, fitness, and firefighter health.
Jo Ellen Caldwell, MS, PT, ATC, IAFF/ACE PFT –
Jo Ellen is a firefighter for the Phoenix Fire Department, a physical therapist and a certified athletic trainer. She operates a personal training and kick boxing gym and is committed to helping firefighters use functional training to reduce their risk of injuries. Jo Ellen is currently pursuing her MA degree in psychology and counseling and plans to use her education, experience and passion to motivate firefighters to improve their health and fitness.
Warren Bowden, BS, IAFF/ACE/PFT Instructor, CSCS, NASM CPT –
Warren is the Fitness Center director of the Phoenix Fire Department. He manages the peer fitness trainer program and the fitness equipment program. Warren is a respected strength coach in the Phoenix area and a frequent presenter at several conferences. He is a leader in the fire service on functional training and one of the Phoenix Fire Department’s Fire FitKids leaders.
Matt Rhea, PhD
Matt is the founder and director of the Firefighter Health and Fitness Research Institute. He is an instructor in the Department of Exercise and Wellness at Arizona State University. He has published numerous studies examining advanced exercise prescription and has gained world-wide recognition for his innovative research. Matt has committed himself to providing the most current accurate research based information to the fire service to help firefighters and fire departments reduce injuries, save lives and improve their health and wellness. Matt is a presenter to the IOC and the NSCA.
Derek Alkonis, BS, IAFF/ACE PFT Instructor –
Derek is a Captain with the Los Angeles Fire Department. He led the implementation of the IAFF/IAFC Wellness Fitness Initiative in his department that covers over 4000 square miles with 3000 firefighters. Derek is a member of the IAFF/IAFC Wellness Fitness, CPAT, and PFT technical committees. He is a frequent author and speaker around the country on firefighter health and wellness and the CPAT.
Olivia Templeton, MS, IAFF/ACE/PFT Instructor–
Olivia is the director of aerobics at Glendale Community College. She is the developer of the personal trainer program and an avid group exercise instructor. Olivia is a frequent presenter at conferences and a personal trainer for over 20 years. She is on the IAFF/IAFC/ACE PFT oversite committee and one of the developers of the IAFF/IAFC/ACE PFT curriculum.
